Dafiti Develops Remotely with Okteto

Cristian Reyes is an Engineering Leader at Dafiti Group LATAM. As an Engineering Leader, he's in charge of driving technical innovation, creating alignment between business and technology, and recruiting technical talent. In this guest post, he talks about Dafiti's experience with Okteto Enterprise.

In Dafiti Group LATAM, we revolutionize the fashion ecosystem with intelligence 🚀

And that intelligence is what drives us to launch innovative projects, helping our engineering team to take our development to another level 👨🏼‍🚀.

Today, we are very excited to see one of our dreams fulfilled: Powered by Okteto Enterprise, we can now share that we've become cloud-native developers in Kubernetes!

All of our development and QA environments now run 100% in Kubernetes. But what does this means?

💙 We can deploy our entire application stack in less than 3 minutes. We now have production-like development environments on demand, powered by Golang, Java Python, Node, Javascript, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and more.

💚 We accelerated the onboarding of new developers. It only takes a few clicks for a new member of our team to deploy their copy of our application stack and synchronize the code with their local machine.

💛 Everyone can deploy a production-like environment unassisted: developers, QA, third-parties, or anybody else in our company.

💜 We increased the synergy between teams and now develop in a highly collaborative environment.

❤️ We said goodbye to all the bottlenecks we had during the QA phase caused by the lack of available environments 🙌🏼.

Would you like to learn more about our project and how we made it a reality? Reach out to us, our team is more than happy to share our experience.

And remember, we have open positions in our great team!

Special thanks to everyone involved in this project: Engineering leadership, DevOps, DBAs, the Dafiti LATAM engineering team, and the Okteto support team. We are just getting started!
